Well, I would recommend Ireland for traveling solo, with family or as a couple. Beside the fact that it is amazingly beautiful country, it has another one bonus – friendly people! No matter where will you go, you will be impressed how well accepted you will be and how helpful locals can be. Check out these stories that happened while I was in Ireland as a solo female traveler which made Ireland best country to visit solo.
How I ended up in Ireland after searching for best country to visit solo?

I know, especially for women it is a bit hard to travel solo. It is not us that are the problem, but people, political or religious reasons and some unfamiliar situations that can cause discomfort. I know many women which didn’t go wherever they want because of fear. I will show you that you can go and travel alone. But before you do, make some research.
I did mine. I admit – I like Ireland since I was a teenager, but never had or the money or time to visit it. We – me and two friends of mine, had all booked in 2020 and the pandemic came. We cancelled. One of those friends had a baby next year and other changed her job and I stayed alone with dream to visit Ireland. In 2022 Ed Sheeran started a tour. And first concert was in Dublin. I bought two tickets 😉
Long story short – do not hesitate to travel alone! It was one of my best decisions ever!
I stayed in Ireland for one week – 4 days in Dublin and 3 days in Galway. But that is another story. Lets see what makes Irish people so nice and friendly!
Have you ever traveled with your old phone that just had battery for a few hours?
That exact thing happened to me. My phone was old. But I did not had problems before. Just a reminder – check all the plugs and chargers before you go traveling 😉 Well, I came to Dublin with no problems, but phone did not charge enough thru the night. It was empty in two hours. And I did not know what to do. That day I visited one of the most beautiful mall I had ever seen – Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre.

There is a shop selling phones. I stopped and ask if I can recharge my phone. The employee was so nice. I had my own charger and I could plugged it. And I left the phone there to explore the mall. I brought him chocolate as a token of gratitude.
My phone was only charged 20% after half an hour. Strange. But I needed to be in The little museum of Dublin. A must if you are in Dublin! The museum will show you the history on their specific way. This history made people friendly and the Ireland the best country to visit solo.

After this great experience I walked around the city and went to the Dublin Castle. I cannot show you any pictures because of a well known reason – my phone went off. In the castle I asked one guard if I can leave phone to charge in a lobby. Not only that I can charge my phone, but also, he said he will stay there and guard it. I was so surprised! I am from Slovenia, we are also nice people, but I am not sure about doing the job you do not need to do. Just because.
So that was my first recognition that Irish people are nice 😉 Third day I realized there is nothing wrong with my phone, but my charger is not ok and I bought new one 😀
If you want some company, just ask for directions – especially in best country to visit solo
Thing I never did before is staying in hostel. What a mistake. I met some fabulous people there, made friendship that will last and I really enjoyed. And I think as a solo female traveler, it is safer to be in hostel with other girls than to be alone in cheap hotel room. Do not hesitate going in hostel, but check the comments and recommendations. You can write me if you want to know which one I choose in Dublin.

I met Camila there. We clicked in a minute and had a really great time. She is from Chile. I gave her the other ticket for Ed’s concert. Because of her I am grateful I choose hostel.
Her story is super cute. She also found out that Irish people are very friendly. Se was walking around the city constantly checking her Google maps. And a lady saw her struggle. Not only that she showed her directions – she walked her all the way to the point Camila was looking for. Camila loved Ireland. She just didn’t like the moody weather.
What? You cannot go to taxi alone!
The person in Ireland that made my day even before I saw him was my taxi driver. First time solo in a country I visited for the first time. And my plane had 3 hours delay. I had paid for my taxi in advance and I needed to inform him what time I will land. I thought I will be left alone at the airport at two o’clock in the morning. But. Not in Ireland! He send me text message that he saw a delay. And that I do not need to worry, he will be back when the plane lands.

My parents and my husband were not happy about me traveling alone. And after I was driving with this super nice guy to the hostel, I wanted to text them how wrong they were. I really think it is not just the landscape and the history – people are the main reason to make best country to visit solo.
Do not hesitate – visit Ireland no matter if you travel solo or not
I remember how uncertain I was about this trip. Bought plane ticket just two weeks before leaving. I was afraid and exited at the same time. Maybe so are you. But once you will land in Ireland, believe me, you will feel safe. But no matter how safe you feel, always be aware. Look after yourself, your stuff and trust your gut. Even on your doorsteps can be someone that wont be nice. So be even more careful abroad. Choose Ireland or other country you find best country to visit solo. And enjoy!
